About Us

Welcome to OPNP+ Community Based Organization

We work for the survival and improving the lifestyle of PLHIV. The organisation was established in 2007. Sahil, a 25-year old from Darbhanga in Bihar has no rancour or bitterness as he talks about getting infected through blood transfusion.

Carving out a new identity for himself in a new city, he found the motivation to live and be of use to others, like him. He has experienced stigma and discrimination but is hopeful that with the support of media, communities will understand the infection better and accept positive people, in their fold. Also he is convinced that we all need to talk more about HIV. For, only when you see HIV, will normalization happen.

With support from the NGOs, he learnt to help and care for others who were struggling and suffering like him. Thereafter my life changed and HIV/AIDS and work for the basic rights of children, women, girls and poeple form the marginalized communities.

Thus, OPNP+ organization was registered under Societies Act of XXI, 1860 in 2007 since then, the network is tirelessly and selflessly working for the welfare of the people suffering from HIV/AIDS, raising awareness about Tuberculosis, Hepatitis-B & C, empowering women, girls, poeple with physical/mental disabilities and for the rights of people from slums and marginalized communities.

For implementing this 'sacial vision' we directly connect with such people and work to the grass root levels of society providing them various services. We providing free education classes to children, computer and other skills based training courses to empower needy women and youth, campaign to save the girl child and educate/support girls through various government and non-govenment welfare schemes. Educate and empower women from slums marginalized communities by forming Self Help Groups so that they become self-reliant. We raise awareness in masses at large regarding HIV-TB, Hepatitis, health, hygiene, cleanliness, water sanitation including basic rights of poeple through community meetings through Wajood Program.

OPNP+ always standa and supports poeple HIV+ facing dusctimination, women affected by violence, children forced in labor, girls and children in human rrafficking. We also advocacy for the rights of people living with HIV and for the women, children and other people living in poverty. To alleviate poverty we offer Skill Development Programs and Enterprenuership Training to women and needy people.

OPNP+ has been working for these social cause and was offered Drop-In-Center by DSACS (Delhi State AIDS Control Society) in 2011, and Help-Desk Services in 2013 by MAMTA and then Vihaan Care & Support Center by India HIV/AIDS Alliance in the year 2015 till present. With Support from Corporate groups, media and the community at large we wish to fulfill our vision at OPNP+. and from 2018, working wih The Union on Axshya Project which aims at a TB free India, working an Armman mMitra Project to protect HIV+ pregnant women and ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Coorporation Ltd.) Project under CSR (Corporate Social Presponsibility) for providing nutritional support to HIV+ people.
